Tucked away beneath a residential building in Sibiu, this modest spot is known among locals for its straightforward, hearty Romanian fare. Guests often come here craving traditional dishes like rich tripe soup and other generous portions that reflect homestyle cooking at approachable prices. The menu leans into fresh, simple salads and warm sides that complement these main offerings without fuss.
The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious—a bit rustic and quiet most days. Service can be described as direct and no-nonsense, the kind that fits a place focused on delivering satisfying food rather than polished hospitality. You might find the setting to be cozy but not flashy, with a small, intimate dining area downstairs and a bar serving a range of drinks, including an interesting beer selection and some solid coffee and tea options.
This is the kind of place suited to solo diners, small groups, or anyone who appreciates a genuine meal without distraction. Tourists and locals alike stop by when seeking a quick bite or a relaxed lunch or dinner that’s more about substance than style. With an emphasis on organic and vegetarian options amidst their traditional offerings, it also caters well to a variety of tastes. Reservations are recommended for midday or evening visits, especially if you’re hoping to settle in for a meal here. Parking is generally easy, either on the street or in the nearby free lot, making it convenient to swing by by car.

4 Quick service, good food, fair prices. We had 2 tripe soups, 2 waters and a desert for about 20 euros.
4 This is a place one goes TO EAT TASTY.. SUPER TASTY, NOT TO GET A GOOD SERVICE and atmosphere (unfortunately). I wouldn't have entered it if not for someone's recommendations about the tasty food. That was definitely not a disappointment - absolutely delicious! But the staff, well... it's those older Communist era born ladies that don't know what customer satisfaction and service is, that's how it felt. The place is also super small and gets easily crowder. Definitely helps knowing a few local words.
5 This place is to eat really good, big portions and low cost. Ciorba de burta is amaizing, I really recommend it - one of the best I've ever eat it in my life. The service was great, the ladies are super nice and helpful.
5 Very nice little place that you do not easily stumble across. You have to know it is there as it is the basement of a residential house. The service is rustic and the food is home made and absolutely fantastic. Prices are very ok. Note: non smoking (not even iqos).
5 Traditional Romanian food, quite delicious i might say, the portions are big, the staff is very polite. Would definitely come again!
5 Traditional food, So delicious, many local people come to eat. Highly recommend.
5 A gem of a place, with very delicious food, and helpful staff. We had the pork sour soup (a must), shared a pork nuckle, with mashed potatoes and some cheese croquettes. They don't accept card, so be prepared, and it gets busy around 7pm, might have to wait for a table then. Very good prices!
5 Had the mixed grill with pickle salad and it was absolutely delicious — that rare home-cooked taste you don’t often find at a restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff were warm and friendly. Highly recommend!
