About Restaurant Prima

Tucked away in a quiet part of Sibiu, just off Strada Petrila, this restaurant offers a straightforward, no-frills setting where traditional Romanian dishes take center stage. The atmosphere is casual and somewhat rustic, with a focus on hearty, homemade flavors rather than polished service. Many visitors come here seeking generous portions of classic grill items like smoked pork neck, pork chop, and various specialties featuring lamb and beef, alongside staple comfort foods like tripe soup and schnitzel variations.

The space feels cosy and unpretentious, often attracting locals who appreciate authentic, satisfying meals without the fuss. It's a good spot for those who prioritize food quality and portion size, whether stopping by for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch or dinner. The dining area is quiet enough for solo diners, yet spacious enough for groups, with practical amenities including wheelchair access and family-friendly seating.

Drink options complement the hearty fare, with a selection of wines, beer, spirits, and well-prepared coffee and tea available. The venue supports various experiences from dine-in to takeaway, and even drive-through service, making it a flexible choice for different dining preferences. While the service can feel a bit to-the-point, the welcoming nature of the staff and the reasonable prices help keep the focus on the food’s comforting appeal.

What Locals Say

Roman Adrian From Google 4

Quick service, good food, fair prices. We had 2 tripe soups, 2 waters and a desert for about 20 euros.

This is a place one goes TO EAT TASTY.. SUPER TASTY, NOT TO GET A GOOD SERVICE and atmosphere (unfortunately). I wouldn't have entered it if not for someone's recommendations about the tasty food. That was definitely not a disappointment - absolutely delicious! But the staff, well... it's those older Communist era born ladies that don't know what customer satisfaction and service is, that's how it felt. The place is also super small and gets easily crowder. Definitely helps knowing a few local words.

This place is to eat really good, big portions and low cost. Ciorba de burta is amaizing, I really recommend it - one of the best I've ever eat it in my life. The service was great, the ladies are super nice and helpful.

Very nice little place that you do not easily stumble across. You have to know it is there as it is the basement of a residential house. The service is rustic and the food is home made and absolutely fantastic. Prices are very ok. Note: non smoking (not even iqos).

A gem of a place, with very delicious food, and helpful staff. We had the pork sour soup (a must), shared a pork nuckle, with mashed potatoes and some cheese croquettes. They don't accept card, so be prepared, and it gets busy around 7pm, might have to wait for a table then. Very good prices!

Had the mixed grill with pickle salad and it was absolutely delicious — that rare home-cooked taste you don’t often find at a restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff were warm and friendly. Highly recommend!
